Mila Vučko

Musician

Mila is a blind young musician who, despite her blindness – or rather precisely because of her special perceptual abilities – has developed exceptional musical sensitivity and expressiveness. She began her musical education at the age of four at the Edgar Willems Music Centre with early music training. Three years later she took up the recorder and, under the guidance of her teachers, developed outstanding technical skill and musical expression. She continued her schooling successfully and was eventually admitted to the Ljubljana Conservatory of Music and Ballet, where she is currently studying in the recorder department. In her musical career so far, Mila has achieved many remarkable successes. At the national TEMSIG competition she has received several awards, including a number of gold prizes and special awards for the highest score. She has also impressed with excellent performances at solfeggio competitions. In addition, she has taken part successfully in international competitions, winning among others first prize at the Glasbena čipka competition. Her performances have taken her to important institutions such as the Office of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, the National Assembly and the Human Rights Ombudsman. Alongside her instrumental skills, Mila has been taking singing lessons since January 2025. In a very short time she has achieved great success in this field too, winning several gold prizes and the maximum number of points at regional and international competitions such as the Soboški festival, Belcanto Niš, Vokalna rapsodija Belgrade, Artisti della Voce Novi Sad, Stojan Stojanov Ganchev Zagreb and Voces Futuri Graz. Mila is distinguished by exceptional discipline, artistic maturity and a remarkable stage presence. Her ability to grasp and convey music on a deeply emotional level makes her a particularly impressive young artist.
